Tesla Tune, 2007, Gallery 100°, Reykjavik Energy, Reykjavik, Iceland, Video

Teslatune is dedicated to the Serbian inventor Nikola Tesla. The sound that is heard in the work comes from an alternating current transformer that I lead through a programmer (time-adjusted frequency equaliser and switch box) that channels the sound through seven different outputs.

Seven pipes of different lengths hang from the gallery's ceiling, emitting what seem to be different sounds, but the frequency is always the same, 50 Hz. It is the length of the pipes that affects the pitch.
